Getting a deduction game to work with lower player counts is not an easy task. Having one that also caters to a wide age range is even harder. However, The Grimm Masquerade has absolutely nailed it. The game scales incredibly well and works at all player counts.
In the Grimm Masquerade you will all be dealt a random fairy tale character. Each character has icons denoting their boon and bane items. These are the crux of your deduction in the game. During your turn you will take two cards one at a time, placing one of them face up in front of you and one face up in front of another player.
Whenever a player has two of the same item in front of them, they must reveal if it is their boon item. If it is, they are unmasked and cannot win the round, although they can still win points. If it’s not their boon they place one of their evidence markers on the portrait of the character whose boon item does match the item to show it’s not their hidden character.
The downside is that they then have access to some useful powers including the ability to accuse other players and guess their character. If a player has three duplicate items in front of them, they check their boon item. If it matches, they win the round, if not they place an evidence marker on the portrait of the character who’s boon it is. As this goes on you start to get a lot of information as players seem to avoid certain items and collect others, bluffing as they do.
The available powers are varied and two of them change each round with the accusation always being available. The winner is the first to get to 10 points or with the most points after three rounds. The simple game is perfect for families and a quick teach at game nights, but there are also a few modular extras for more complexity!

You may choose to cancel the order at any time up until 14 days after you have received the goods. If you chose to cancel after the goods have been dispatched, you will be responsible for all postage costs and are completely responsible for ensuring the items are returned to us in the same condition as they were received.If the returned goods are not returned in the same condition received, we withhold the right to deduct 50% from the refund cost or refuse the return outright.
To summarize you can nearly always return an unwanted Item within the 14 day period as long as it has not been opened, or used and is still in the original packaging/sealed as received. If you have opened and used it we will not be able to accept the return.
Damaged or Faulty Goods
If you Have received a faulty or damaged item you must inform us within 7 working days of receiving the item. We will then offer a suitable resolution at no cost to yourself. We do reserve the right to refuse complaints or levy appropriate charges for issues raised after this period.NOTE: Damaged cards inside blind packed products such as booster packs. In the event that a particular card is damaged inside a pack, we will only be able to replace the booster pack as being faulty (the product purchased) and not the individuals cards inside. In the rare case that this happens to you, you may benefit from contacting the manufacturer of the product for a replacement card, however they do not have any duty to fulfil this.
Other Returns
In the unlikely event that your item arrives damaged or we have made a mistake on your order or your item has suffered a manufacturing fault, then please contact us at the_boss@bossminis.co.uk
Most manufacturing faults are quickly resolved through an email to the manufacturer. If you wish to return an item in these circumstances we will cover the postage costs for your return up to standard shipping.
Pre-order Cancellations
You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund until the order has shipped, which is usually one day before official release date (On day of release for TCGs). This applies up to the point the order is dispatched. This does not apply to any price with additional discounts codes or special offers.We also reserve the right to deduct outbound postage costs from your refund should the returned goods have originally met our free postage threshold.
Should you choose to return an item for any reason other than damage / manufacturing fault and have paid postage, we will not refund the postage costs having shipped the item to you upon fulfillment.
